Because acute infection and inflammation affect drug metabolism and drug-metabolizing enzymes, the effect of the acute-phase response on the expression of glutathione S-transferase (GST) isoenzymes, glutathione synthesis, and several antioxidant enzymes was investigated. Hepatic expression of GST is
