✦ Synopsis
Carbene complexes / Stannyl complexes / Chromium complexes / Anionic complexes Transition Metal Stannyl Complexes, the Anionic Stannyl Complexes [(~-Arene)(CO)~CrSnPh,l-with RzCXz or [R2CX]Y -Preparation of Carbene Complexes (n-Arene)(CO)zCrCRz by the Reaction of Carbene complexes (x-arene)(CO)2Cr= CR2 are formed in substitution/elimination reactions from the anionic stannyl complexes K[(n-arene)(C0)2CrSnPh3] [n-arene = C6H6 (1 a), 1,3,5-Me3C6H3 (1 b), 1,2,4,5-Me4C6Hz (1 c), C6Me6 (1 d)J and organic dihalides R2CX2 containing activated C -X bonds or ionic halides [R2CX]Y. Bis(stanny1) complexes (n-arene)(C0)2Cr(SnPh3)z (3) and hydrido(stanny1)complexes (~c-arene)(CO)~Cr(H)SnPh~ are formed as byproducts due to the reaction of the eliminated Ph3SnC1 with the anionic starting complexes or electron transfer reactions, respectively. The portion and ratio of the by-products is largely influenced by the steric properties of both the (x-arene)(CO)zCr fragment and the organic halide.
