About Perdeuterotriphenylphosphine, Trifluoroacetyldecadeuterodiphenylphosphine and the Behaviour of the latter towards Molecular Oxygen C F ~C O P ( C ~D S ) ~ (4) is obtained according to equation (3) by reaction of NaP(C(,D& and CF3COCI in THF at -78" C. The compound 4 can be transformed into 2,2,2-trifluoro-I-decadeuterodiphenylphosphorylethyl-decadeuterodiphenylphosphinate (5) by molecular oxygen in toluene or benzene at room temperature. The structure of the oxidation product 5 results from alkaline decomposition and from mass and i. r. spectroscopic investigations. The vibrational spectra of P(C6D& (3) and of 4 a.re discussed.
