Abstract
The synthesis of a number of new polymerizable monomers containing functional groups is reported [(R)‐ and (S)‐1‐(4‐vinylphenyl)ethylamine (R)‐5 and (S)‐5, (R), (S)‐N,N‐dimethyl‐1‐(4‐vinylphenyl)ethylamine ((R),(S)‐6, (R), (S)‐trimethyl‐1‐(4‐vinylphenyl)ethylammonium iodide ((R),(S)‐7), dihydroxy‐6‐indenylborane (9), and (S)‐2‐(6‐indentyl)‐4‐methyl‐1,3,2‐dioxaborolane (10)]. By racemic resolution optically pure (R)‐ as well as (S)‐1(4‐vinylphenyl)ethylamine could be obtained. Furthermore dihydroxy(4,6‐dimethyl‐7‐indeyl)borane (11) was synthesized. The products were characterized by NMR spectroscopy.
