✦ Synopsis

Abstract

Several 7‐mercapto‐thiazolo[5,4‐d]pyrimidines were synthesised from 4,6‐dimercapto‐5‐amino‐pyrimidines by reaction with formic acid. The 4,6‐dimercapto‐pyrimidines were obtained in good yields from the corresponding 4,6‐dihydroxypyrimidines by reaction with phosphorus pentasulfide in pyridine.
