Abstract

The formation of 2‐hydroxy‐chinoline‐4‐carbonic acid from isatine via N‐acetyl‐isatine and N‐acetyl‐isatinic acid was investigated. The first two reactions are reversible, the third step is irreversible. The three reactions were carried out simultaneously under pressure.
