Die Bildung und das Verhalten von strahleninduzierten Radikalen in Polyvinylmercaptan und Copolymeren aus Vinylmercaptan und Vinylpyrrolidon wurden mit Hilfe der ESR-Spektroskopie untersucht. I n allen Polymeren konnten RS*-Radikale nachgewiesen werden, die im Fall der Copolymeren teilweise durch Ketteniibertragung entstehen. Die Copolymeren werden nur schwach bzw. nicht vernetzt, was a d einen Schutz-bzw. Regenerationseffekt der Vinylpyrrolidon-Einheiten durch die Mercaptogruppen zuruckgefiihrt wird.
SUMMARY:
The formation and the behavior of radiation induced radicals in polyvinylmercaptan and copolymers from vinylmercaptan and N-vinylpyrrolidone were investigated ESRspectroscopically. RS* radicals were found in all polymers. In the case of the copolymer they were partially formed by chain transfer reactions. The copolymers are not or only weakly crosslinked. This can be explained by a protection-or regeneration-effect for the vinylpyrrolidone moieties by the mercaptogroups.
