Abstract
Aus Leuko‐anthocyanidin‐hydraten^1)^ [Hydroxy‐flavandiolen‐(3.4)] (IV, V, VI) entstehen durch Hydrierung in 50–70‐proz. Ausbeute die entsprechenden Catechine [Hydroxy‐flavan‐ole‐(3)] (I, II, III). Damit ist eine neue Catechin‐Synthese erschlossen, deren Weg von den Flavonolen über die Dihydro‐flavonole und Leuko‐anthocyanidin‐hydrate führt. — Das bisher schwer zugängliche (–)‐Epicatechin läßt sich aus der Rinde der Douglas‐Tanne (Pseudotsuga taxifolia) nebst Dihydro‐quercetin (Taxifolin) ^2)^ und (+)‐Catechin durch Gegenstromverteilung gewinnen.
