Abstract
Two different aldolases from rabbit liver have been separated by ion‐exchange chromatography on DEAE‐cellulose. They differ in activity towards fructose‐1‐phosphate and fructose‐1,6‐diphosphate (“1‐Phosphofructaldolase” and “Diphosphofructaldolase”). By this separation an enzyme acting specifically on fructose‐1‐phosphate has been purified for the first time. The degree of purification was about 16‐fold.
