## Abstract The tumorigenicity of SV40 in new‐born hamsters was enhanced by moderate U.V. irradiation (10,000 ergs. mm^−2^) of the virus provided that at least 10^5^ viral particles were injected. This enhancement phenomenon was suppressed by the addition of normal virus to the irradiated inoculum.
