Inhaltsu È bersicht. Mit Rb 2 PdI 4 ´I2 wurde das erste Rubidiumiodopalladat(II) dargestellt. Trotz desselben Formeltyps ist die Verbindung nicht isotyp zu Cs 2 PdI 4 ´I2 . Die Kristallstruktur von Rb 2 PdI 4 ´I2 wurde mittels ro È ntgenographischer Methoden an Einkristallen bestimmt. Rb 2 PdI 4 ´I2 kristallisiert im orthorhombischen Raumgruppentyp Pnma (Nr. 62) mit a = 7,982(1) A Ê , b = 12,267(1) A Ê , c = 14,599(1) A Ê und vier Formeleinheiten pro Elementarzelle. Palladium zeigt die fu È r Pd(II) typische rechteckig-planare Koordination. Weiterhin ist Iod in Form von I 2 -Hanteln eingelagert. Eine Verbindung gleicher Summenformel, jedoch mit oktaedrisch koodiniertem Pd IV ± Rb 2 PdI 6 ±, konnte mikrokristallin als Gemenge mit Rb 2 PdI 4 ´I2 erhalten werden.
Two New Iodopalladates with Identical Chemical Formula: Rb 2 PdI 4 ´I2 ± a New Structure Type with Insertion of I 2 Molecules ± and Rb 2 PdI 6 Abstract. Rb 2 PdI 4 ´I2 is the first rubidium iodopalladate(II) which could be prepared. Despite showing the same formula type, the compound is not isotypic to Cs 2 PdI 4 ´I2 . The crystal structure of Rb 2 PdI 4 ´I2 was explored by X-ray crystal structure analysis. Rb 2 PdI 4 ´I2 shows orthorhombic symmetry, space group Pnma (No. 62) with lattice parameters a = 7.982(1) A Ê , b = 12.267(1) A Ê , c = 14.599(1) A Ê , Z = 4. Palladium is coordinated by four iodine atoms building the typi-cal square-planar coordination. Further iodine is inserted as I 2 molecules. Another compound with the same empirical formula but octahedrally coordinated Pd IV ± Rb 2 PdI 6 ± could be obtained microcrystallinic in connection with Rb 2 PdI 4 ´I2 .
