ii Zurn Industries awarded water resource contracts Zurn Industries has been awarded contracts totalling $75m for projects in Southern California. The largest contract is with the Metropolitan Water District for a $62.2m project to construct a 16 000 gps pumping station at the termination of the 9 mile long, 12 foot diameter Eastside Pipeline. Work on the new pumping station begins in January 1997, with completion planned in the spring of 1999. Located in Hemet, California, the new pumping plant and the pipeline are part of the Metropolitan Water District's $2 billion Domenigoni Valley Reservoir project.

When complete, the Domenigoni Reservoir will double the water supply available to more than 15 million Southern Californian residents. In addition, it will provide emergency water supplies and services to alleviate drought, and offer new recreational facilities.
