Abstract

Several N‐tosylaminocarbonyl amino acids and corresponding di‐ and tripeptides were prepared in order to investigate the suitability of the tosylaminocarbonyl group as an amino protecting group in peptide chemistry. The group is shown to be selectively cleavable under neutral conditions.
