Reaction of N‐Substituted N′‐Chlorobenzamidines with Potassium S‐Methyl N‐Cyanimidodithiocarbonate — a New Thiadiazole Synthesis
In contrast to a known procedure for the synthesis of 1,2,4‐thiadiazoles 3 from N‐unsubstituted N′‐chlorobenzamidines 1a and potassium S‐methyl cyanimidodithiocarbonate (2) the substituted amidines 1b–1e form thiadiazoles 5a–d containing both nitrogen atoms of amidines in the ring system.
