On the Reaction of Bis(dimethylamino)acetonitrile with Phenylisocyanate

Bis(dimethylamino)acetonitrile (1) reacts with phenylisocyanate to yield the imidazolidinedione 2, as confirmed by X‐ray structure analysis. The mechanism of formation of 2 is discussed.
