Abstract
Die p‐ständigen Methylgruppen von Xylenolen werden über Methylol und Aldehyd zur Carbonsäure oxydiert. Die Bestimmung der vier Produkte nebeneinander gelingt nach Trennung durch Wasserdampfdestillation durch Kolorimetrie des Destillates (Xylenol und Methylol), wie auch des Rückstandes (Aldehyd und Carbonsäure) mit p‐Nitrobenzoldiazoniumfluoroborat bei pH 2 und pH 11.
