z -Methyl -3.3di b e n z y 1 -in d 01 i n a u s C2,H2,N. Durch Kochen der Indolenin-Base in Alkohol (li2 Stde.) mit 12-n. HC1 undZi nk-amalgam wurde die griinlich-brauneLosung farblos. Man isolierte 80% d. Th. Pikrat vom gleichen Schmp. wie das Ausgangssalz (Mischprobe, auch beim Acetylkorper und HC1-Salz). Die Analyse mit 0.44 g ergab 4.63 yo H statt 4.44 yo bzw. 4.80 yo. K a t a l y t i s c h e H y d r i e r u n g : 1.65 g Base in 7.5 ccm Wasser und 15 ccm Eisessig nahmen mit 55 mg Platinoxyd langsam etwas mehr als z H-Atome a d . Nach Abdestillieren im Vakuum behandelte man 6 Stdn. mit 20 ccm Acetanhydrid und 0.2 g Acetat bei 1000. Das wie sonst isolierte Produkt Wrde aus wenig k h e r 2-ma1 umgelost : sechsseitige Prismen vom Schmp. 1030, die init dem Acetylkorper 97O gemischt bei 70-8oo schmolzen.
