In the synthesis of pseudoionone by pyrolysis of dehydro‐linalyl‐acetoacetate (Kimel & Sax, US‐Pat. 2 661 368) an isomeric ketone is formed, the structure of which has been elucidated by degradation to d,l‐puleganic acid.
