✦ Synopsis

Abstract

The cuprous oxide content of electrolytic copper powders obtained from copper sulfate solutions was determined with the hydrogen reduction method. The dependence of the oxide content upon the following variables was studied: concentration of the bath, current density, duration of the electrolysis, treatment of the powder. The oxide content increased greatly when the concentration of the bath decreased. A correlation was observed between the oxide content on one hand, the degree of dispersion and the lattice state of the powders on the other hand.
