✦ Synopsis

Doppler-limited laser-induced fluorescence excitation spectra of the origin band of the x IAl-% 'Ar system of HZCS have been recorded in zero fold and in magnetic fields up to IO kG. From analyses of the zero-tield level shifts and the profdes of magnetically sensitive lines, it is deduced that the perturbations arise from a secondorder spin-orbit/vibronic interaction with Ft triplet levels of an Al viironic state of the% 3A2 state, with AK= = 0 and AN = +l. The most probable vibronic state is 3l4'6' _ The spectra show evidence of differential quenching of perturbed levels.
