✦ Synopsis
The title compound, C 16 H 10 Cl 2 N 4 O, has been synthesized as a potent fungicidal agent and plant growth regulatory agent, and its crystal structure was determined. In the crystal structure, weak intermolecular C-HÁ Á ÁCl interactions are found. The dihedral angles between the planes of the pyridine and triazole rings, and between the substituted phenyl and triazole rings, are 82.4 (2) and 118.8 (3) , respectively.

The title compound, C~16~H~12~Cl~2~O, exhibits second-order nonlinear optical properties as it crystallizes in a non-centrosymmetric space group. The dihedral angle between the benzene rings is 34.02 (6)°. Intermolecular C—H...O interactions link the molecules to form chains along the __c__ axis.
In the title molecule, C 17 H 14 Cl 2 O 3 , the methoxy groups are almost coplanar with the attached benzene ring. The molecules are linked via intermolecular C-HÁ Á ÁO interactions into wave-like chains along the b axis.
