✦ Synopsis

A new monoterpene alcohol was isolated from the essential oil of Artemisia feddei I&. et Van. ( Himeyomogi in Japanese >, and its structure was determined as formula I, which revealed a new skeletal type of natuJKLlY occurring monoterpene. We propose the name Yomogi aloohol A for this alcohol, and here present the evidences for the proposed structure. Artemisia feddei I&v. 8t Van. used in COll8Ct8d at the suburbs of Hiroshima city.
