Abstract
Five varieties of oils from hybrid bunch type peanuts, viz. Dh‐7‐32, Dh‐3‐30, Dh‐3‐29, Dh‐3‐20 and Dh‐2‐4 and their parents spanish improved and US‐4 have been analysed for their fatty acid composition with the following results: oil content 43.5 to 48.5%, Iodine value 95.8 to 98.9, protein content 43.1 to 49.3%, saturated acids 22.2 to 31.1% and unsaturated acids 68.2 to 76.3%. All varieties contain palmitoleic acid ranging from 0.6 to 1.5%.
