β¦ Synopsis
Two novel triterpenes, yardenone (5) and abudinol(6) together with the known sodwanones A-D (1 -4) have been isolated from the marine sponge Ptilocaulis spiculifer. The structures of compounds 5 and 6 were determined by interpretation of their 1D and 2D NMR spectra and were secured, including their relative stereochemistry, by X-ray diffraction analysis.
