โฆ Synopsis
Rutherford Axis has provided a valuable and elegant review of recent (through 1973) work on reaction-diffusion theory in this erudite eight-chapter work bound in two volumes. Although primarily concerned with the chemical engineering analysis for reactions in porous catalytic pellets, a fair part of the exposition is either concerned directly or related through corresponding equations to fundamental reaction-diffusion problems in biology. The most impressive aspect of the book is the author's success in bringing together such a wide range of material in a coherent and unified format, as indicated by the chapter titles :
