## Abstract Carboxylesterases (CEs) are traditionally regarded as xenobiotic metabolizing enzymes that hydrolyze esterified xenobiotics to alcohol and carboxylic acid products. However, there is a growing appreciation for the role of CEs in the processing of endobiotics, including cholesteryl ester
