✦ Synopsis

We present an X-ray photoemlsslon spectroscopy study of some rareearth ion(IU)excha Y-type z+oIites (Ln-u). The 4f levels of Eu-Y mere drastxally changed by degassmg at low temperature; the relatwe intensity of the 4f levels for Eu3 + decreased and the 4f lme of Eu'+ increased as the sample was degassed at 4O(PC.
