✦ Synopsis

Preliminary results on ionization in liquid Nitrogen and liquid Helium by means of X-rays are given. At the transition of He I and He II at 2.19°K (X-point) a measured ionization temperature curve shows a remarkable behaviour. Further away from the ),-point no essential difference between the ionization of He I and He II has been found within the accuracy of these experiments.
