Crane appeals against court's decision
In the continuing Coltec merger saga, Crane has filed an appeal in the US District Court of Appeals against the previous ruling that allows the US$1.3 billion acquisition of Coltec Industries, the producer of landing gear and industrial sealing systems, by BF Goodrich to go ahead.
Crane, which is interested ill acquiring Coltec, suffered a legal defeat in January when a federal judge dismissed its lawsuit that contended Coltec should have informed it of BF Goodrich's takeover interest.
Ill addition, the Federal "l?ade Association has requested additional information from Coltec and BF Goodrich, in connection with the anti-trust filing relating to their proposed merger.
However, both companies are confident they will be able to respond promptly to the FTC'S request and the closing of the deal, scheduled for the end of this month or early April, will not be adversely affected.
