The Hanriot HD.1, in its compact and well-balanced simplicity, can be ranked alongside the Sopwith Pup as one of the prettiest aeroplane designs of WWI and its flying qualities easily matched its aesthetic appeal: hardly surprising then that the little French fighter is so popular with modelmakers all over the world. This heavily-illustrated publication is long overdue for apart from the well-known Profile booklet on the type, the Harriot has been poorly recorded hitherto and windsock Datafile No. 12 sets out to redress this lamentable situation.
