but the authors mainly discuss the need to intensify other kinds of management. The balance of production and processing inputs developsinto a crisis as the collapse of some fisheries has proven. This does not demonstrate the need for new strategies but rather for new studies from which the manager could gain information for future planning. It is remarkable that nothing is said in the book about aquaculture as a possible way t o limit exploitation and misuse of the sea. The perspectives for the global fishery in the near future are not good if the governments are mainly interested in exploiting the sea for maximum short-term gains.
