✦ Synopsis

Abstract

Simple folded‐patch antennas fed by an L‐shape probe are designed and studied experimentally. This simple antenna structure with thick air substrate attains a projection‐length reduction of about 30% with reference to the conventional half‐wave patch antenna. This antenna attains an impedance bandwidth of 35% and a gain of 6 dBi. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. ## Abstract In this paper, the characteristics of a bent meander‐line probe fed patch antenna are investigated. The air‐filled patches are designed at a height of about 9% of the wavelength and the bent meander‐line probe fed antenna is able to achieve an impedance bandwidth of about 31% for a VSWR

## Abstract In this article, a novel and successful design of ultra‐wideband folded loop antenna is proposed and investigated. The antenna is fed by coplanar waveguide directly and can be fabricated easily by employing printed circuit board technology. It is studied both numerically and experimenta
