β¦ Synopsis
The metastable state of solid MBBA has been studied by wide line nuclear magnetic resonance. The difference between the metastable and stable states involves reorientation of the benzylidene ring about the pam axis_ A limited rotation OF the n-butyl chain occurs in both phases above 250 K.
