Client-server is a model for planning and implementing IT systems, enabling organizations to optimize the use of different computer hardware, software and integration products.
All IT systems have their strengths and weaknesses. No single system is capable of carrying out computing tasks efficiently. The client-server model recognizes this, by allocating specific tasks to the most appropriate system elements.
