Winsen was on leave from the university, working under contract with several utilities, including Australia's largest generator, Macquarie Generation, where his responsibilities included developing VBA modules for pricing electricity derivatives (such as caps and swaptions), analyzing ``profit at risk,'' and developing new products to assist electricity purchasers hedge price risk. His other clients have included Duke Energy International and Enron Australia. Initial drafts of this paper were written while both authors were employed within Macquarie Generation.
