โœฆ Synopsis

In its relatively short existence as a field of study, generalized Ramsey theory for graphs has achieved a remarkable degree of coherence. A major reason for this coherence is the presence of guiding principles and conjectures that give most results in the field a general setting. We will survey some of these principles and conjectures here. It is hoped that considering these, as well as the illustrative results given, will help give focus to future research. We emphasize Ramsey numbers, but consider arrow relations as well.
