Abstract
Wellβbeing therapy (WBT) aims to enhance psychological wellβbeing based on Ryff's (1989) six dimensions: autonomy, personal growth, environmental mastery, purpose in life, positive relations, and selfβacceptance. Previous studies have documented the efficacy of this psychotherapy in treating patients with mood and anxiety disorders and in preventing relapse in recurrent depression. We discuss and illustrate the use of WBT in generalized anxiety disorder. We present a case of a patient suffering from generalized anxiety disorder treated with cognitiveβbehavioral therapy followed by WBT. Β© 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
