Your Majesties the Emperor and Empress, Committee Chairs, Participants and guests of the Conference, Ladies and Gentlemen; It is a great pleasure for me, as the representative of The Science Council of Japan, to have this opportunity to welcome all of you at the opening ceremony of the International Nuclear Physics Conference 2007. The Science Council of Japan is an organization representing a broad range of scientific community in Japan in the fields of humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences. Our main purpose is to fulfill social responsibilities of the Japanese scientists' community through development of science.
