Weir P u m p s has won two orders, worth well over £2m, to supply p u m p i n g e q u i p m e n t to t h e water industry in J a m a i c a and Nigeria.
The larger contract, w o r t h £1.3m, was a w a r d e d by Kier International, u n d e r a contract with the National Water Comm i s s i o n of J a m a i c a , for t h e Lucea-Negril water supply imp r o v e m e n t project. Weir is to manufacture eight of its new s t a n d a r d b o r e h o l e r a n g e for Logwood p u m p i n g station and two U n i g l i d e p u m p s e t s for Green Island p u m p i n g station.
In Nigeria, Weir is to manuf a c t u r e a r a n g e of Uniglide, Duoglide, Isoglide and Spiroglide p u m p s e t s , including starters and spare parts, for various p u m p i n g s t a t i o n s a n d w a t e r t r e a t m e n t works in Ogun State. The contract is worth over £800 000.
