✦ Synopsis

Weighted least squares approach for conjoint analysis was used to examine buyer preferences toward aquaculturally produced hybrid striped bass. Results showed that all markets prefer fillets, the restaurant market prefers a fish weighing around 2.5 lbs. while the retail and wholesale markets prefer a fish weighing around 2 lbs. and that for the retail market year-round availability is desirable.

As such, an understanding of how the buyer evaluates products based on various fish attributes is necessary for maximum buyer acceptance. Published as Miscellaneous Paper No. 1401 of the Delaware Agricultural Experiment Station.
