In the present paper we determine all the elements in the root lattices of symmetrizable KacαMoody algebras whose reflections preserve the root systems. Also we discuss elements in the root lattices whose reflections preserve the root lattices.

We give a representation-theoretic interpretation of the sine-Gordon equation using the action of affine Kac-Moody algebra sl 2 on the Weyl algebra. In this setup t-functions become functions in non-commuting variables. The skew Casimir operators that we introduce here, give rise to a hierarchy of p
The first family of Kac-Moody Lie algebras studied are the simple Lie algebras. The study of nilpotent Lie algebras of maximal rank and of type A B C D was made by Favre and Santharoubane in [5]. Later, Agrafiotou and Tsagas studied these algebras, of types E 6 E 7 , and E 8 finding that there exist
We use a theorem of S. Tolman and J. Weitsman (The cohomology rings of Abelian symplectic quotients, math. DGΓ9807173) to find explicit formul$ for the rational cohomology rings of the symplectic reduction of flag varieties in C n , or generic coadjoint orbits of SU(n), by (maximal) torus actions. W
