Meeting report
vortices and the state of runways available to forecasters to enable them to obtain a clearer picture of current, and therefore hopefully future, weather conditions. This in turn requires a forecast capacity improvement to enable better predictions of, for example, icing, turbulence, low clouds etc. More education and training might be needed, in particular concerning the volcanic ash problem, and improved communication to the cockpit might be desirable. The following discussion with the audience concentrated mainly on whether available data is really used to the maximum, and whether more effort should be focused on presenting data -in particular concerning uncertainties and their interpretation -more clearly so that it can be digested more easily by operators and pilots.
