✦ Synopsis

The need for new and more reliable wear sensors for metal cutting is discussed. After a brief presentation of the principles of computer vision, the working principle of the system developed in this work is given. The algorithm employed is explained in some detail. Finally some experimental results obtained using the system are presented and discussed.
