The Bi 1Γx A x Fe 1Γx Ti x O 3 (A-Ca, Sr, Pb, Ba) and BiFe 1Γx Ti x O 3+d systems have been studied using X-ray, neutron powder diffraction and magnetization measurements in a magnetic field up to 14 T. It was found that all Bi 1Γx A x Fe 1Γx Ti x O 3 solid solutions are rhombohedral up to x ΒΌ 0.3.
It adopts a triclinically distorted variant of the RbMnHP 3 O 10 structure and an approximate structure re5nement has been obtained from powder neutron di4raction data (space group P1 , a β«Ψβ¬ 7.102(2), b β«Ψβ¬ 7.234(1), c β«Ψβ¬ 9.109(2) A s , β«Ψβ¬ 72.176(8), β«Ψβ¬ 73.762( 9), β«Ψβ¬ 70.642(12)3 at 2 K).
