β¦ Synopsis
Abstract
A novel method for multiplexing intensityβtype fiberβoptic sensors using wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) and spatial division multiplexing (SDM) is proposed and demonstrated. A variation of Β±0.2 dB at a loss of β10.95 dB is obtained, which is comparable with that obtained by the traditional method. The experimental results show that the sensor at the upβleading fiber has no influence on the sensor at the downβleading fiber. Β© 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
