β¦ Synopsis
A multi-wavelength erbium-doped fiber laser incorporating an semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) based on a tunable Mach-Zehnder interferometer (as a comb filter) is proposed. Wavelength-spacing can be continuously tuned and multi-wavelength lasing with wavelength spacings of 0.4 nm, 0.8 nm, and 1.6 nm is demonstrated. The output of the proposed multi-wavelength laser is rather stable at room temperature and the output spectra can be adjusted by controlling the bias current of the SOA and the power of the pump laser diode.

## Abstract A simple, compact, and low cost tunable ring laser with a commercial semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) was demonstrated. The tunable ring laser is based on an external wavelength filter cavity that is analogous with the Littman configuration with a diffraction grating, a mirror, and
The paper demonstrates the utilization of a tunable band-pass filter in producing tunable multi-wavelength Brillouinerbium fiber lasers within a Fabry-Perot cavity. The optimization of the Brillouin pump wavelength position within the bandwidth of the self-lasing cavity modes is important to achieve
A low threshold and efficient multi-wavelength Brillouin-erbium fiber laser with a pre-amplified Brillouin pump within a Fabry-Perot cavity is presented. With the utilization of a fiber Bragg grating filter as one of the fiber loop mirrors, up to 25 stable Brillouin Stokes lines could be generated w
