Abstract
Boundary‐value problems of wave diffraction by a periodic strip grating are associated with a Toeplitz operator acting on a space of functions defined on a two‐straight line contour. Simple formulas are given for the left inverse of the operator associated with the Neumann boundary‐value problem and for the right inverse of the operator associated with the Dirichlet boundary‐value problem when the period of the grating is equal to double the width of the strips.
