โฆ Synopsis
Doped-B&O3 forms a vast array of solid solutions, 1801-1826 (August 1999). having very high oxygen ion conductivities, with many other metal oxides. A number of other doped-Bi203 were examined here, and a new family known as BIMEVOX and Aurivillius phases are worth mentioning. These are based on B&V,0 1 1, with a metal ion (Cu or Ni, for example) replacing some of the V in solid solution. The paper also examines some of the newer systems, and shows that the structures are very complex, although a lot of work is still being undertaken to realise a stable high oxygen ion conductor.
