โฆ Synopsis
Al~traet--The present work deals with the investigation of diffusion and structural properties of sizing agents used for sizing secondary acetate yarns in the presence of plasticizers including water. The plasticizers (glycerin, Turkey red oil, water) are found to act as structure forming agents by changing the packing density of structural units of the diffusion medium.
INTRODUCrlON
Knowledge of various size properties makes it possible to predict the behaviour of yarns during weaving. For example by the water sorption of size films, one can estimate the water content in a sized yarn and predict changes in physical-mechanical yarn properties under technological processing conditions. It is established that high water sorption accompanied by the transition of the size to the high-elasticity state may cause secondary effects such as corrosion of certain loom parts, increase of yarn breaks, etc. The aim of the present work was to investigate sorptiondiffusion phenomena in films of different sizing agents on interaction with water vapour.
