In Japan, many large titles are facmg with serious shortage of water supply sourses because it becomes very difficult to satisfy the increasing water demand wits the rapid growth of econcmy and the eievation of living conditions. For instance, it is predicted that LOO million cubic meter of water will be in short supply in Tokyo and its surrounding districts in 1980. In overpopulated cities such as Tokyo. many multistoried building are being constructed in order to use limited lands effectively and the level of living are raised. accordingly, the water consumption per unit area are soared up recently.
